i will try to keep it brief but my AC broke in late july and it's 95F/35C in my house at all times. so i opened my windows because i'm not a bitch, just deal with it ya know? then there was a wildfire and all the smoke came in through my windows so everything i own smells like smoke. alright, unlucky, so i shut my windows. then today i woke up to hundreds of termites eating through my walls. i rent, by the way, and do not want to break my lease because the process of packing and finding another place to live will make me slow on content. i am a pretty strong person with a generally high threshold for bullshit- i mean i literally lived in greece for half my life, i've dealt with the heat. but i am strongly considering it at this point because my house is becoming uninhabitable.
so basically i am literally doomed. i'm still gonna try to get shit done, but if i am slower to reply or more distant just assume it's because my brain is being slow-cooked to death or that termites ate me alive.
and if i have any lawyers reading this that are familiar with renter's rights in california let me know- i've tried looking stuff up to see if i can withhold rent for pest infestation/no AC but no dice so far.
